"STARBAND TREATS CRANIAL DEFORMITIES IN INFANTS USING STARSCANNER
LASER SYSTEM TECHNOLOGY."

STARSCANNER
LASER SYSTEM TECHNOLOGY.”
Positional plagiocephaly appears as unusual flattening of the head,
and exhibits as a variety of different head shapes which may indicate
a condition requiring further medical observation or treatment. It is
also seen in patients diagnosed with torticollis. The Starband from
Orthomerica is a custom cranial remolding orthosis used to treat deformational
plagiocephaly and other head shape deformities in infants 3-20 months
of age. Tens of thousands of infants have been successfully treated
with the Starband Cranial Remolding Orthosis, since its introduction.
Treatment generally takes 3-6 months, but varies on the patient’s
age and severity of cranial asymmetry. The Starscanner system allows
medical professionals to document, compare and overlay infant head shape
data before, during and after treatment of the cranial deformity. For
the first time, treatment progress can be evaluated with printed reports
for referring physicians, research studies, insurance companies and
caregivers. Starscans, which take under two seconds, replace the uncomfortable
and lengthy casting procedure, adding science to the treatment for the
first time. Cranial Remolding Center operates one of only 40 Starscanners
in the world. Any inquiries or questions will be answered by a friendly,
professional, knowledgeable staff at 1-800-685-9116. Call for a location
