The Nurtury Infant/Toddler Montessori House will open in September 2007, nurturing four infants and ten toddlers in a wonderful house designed just for them. The environment will meet the needs of the infant and foster independence, psychomotor development and language acquisition. The Montessori-certified staff will help and encourage the natural development of each child and has a full understanding of early childhood development. The staff is fully aware of the importance of this work. Intelligence and personality form in the first three years of life. The Nurtury’s vision is of a “gentler, kinder” world. The Nurtury will be a sanctuary of peace, empathy and gentleness even in an increasingly fast-paced society. At The Nurtury, children will grow according to their natural pace. Children will not be asked to perform tasks they are not ready for, but the staff will be constantly observant for when they need more. The Nurtury recognizes the parent as the child’s first educator. Through a partnership with parents, The Nurtury will share information about its observations and discover clues to the unique set of needs and patterns of each child.
