Established in 1883, the Fencers Club is the oldest organization in the United States dedicated exclusively to teaching and promoting the sport of fencing. Modern fencing is a dynamic sport which builds a foundation of strong physical conditioning, develops mental acuity and teaches discipline, balance, agility and strategic thinking. Throughout the Fencers Club’s history, members have routinely filled the ranks of U.S. national teams and have captured many medals in national and international championships at the Cadet, Junior, Senior and Veteran levels. Talented high school fencers are in high demand at the college level, and fencing experience greatly improves a student’s chances of college admission. University coaches recognize the quality of training at the Fencers Club. Younger members are recruited by the nation’s finest universities. The Fencers Club is a highly diverse not-for-profit corporation. It is the largest fencing club in New York City, and it features extensive facilities for fencing competition and training, along with a privately run in-house fencing equipment store. Children, ages seven and up are invited to begin their training with the internationally renowned coaches at the Fencers Club. There are many fencing partners for beginning fencers, and they may participate in group or private instruction. The Club is also available for birthday parties and special gatherings, featuring fencing class instruction.
