O’Connell, Selig and Associates, LLP of Hauppauge is a comprehensive therapy and rehabilitation practice that provides innovative diagnostic and therapy services that yield effective and timely results. Highly trained and specialized speech, occupational and physical therapists work together and embrace out-of-the-box thinking to develop a personalized treatment plan for children and adults. Patients may choose from office or home-based therapy and individual or group treatment. Individualized treatment plans are developed for children and adults with neurological disorders, balance and coordination problems, developmental delays, motor difficulty, chronic pain, oral-motor and feeding and swallowing difficulty, injury, handwriting difficulty, sensory integration disorder and post surgical care. Specialized groups include: yoga for children with special needs; handwriting, language and socialization; pediatric motor enhancement; infant massage and kids’ fitness. Yoga for Kids classes are now forming. Yoga enhances overall strength, flexibility, motor planning skills and sensory awareness. Breathing techniques and proper alignment used in class may promote speech development. Classes are taught by a registered occupational therapist and Yoga instructor.
