College for Children at LaGuardia Community College will help your children succeed in school this winter. Enroll them in classes and watch their grades soar. The Kindergarten through Grade 5 courses offer early literacy and math development, as well as phonics, reading, writing, science, social studies and math. Classes will help your child prepare for the New York State English Language Arts, Mathematics, Grade 4 Elementary Level Science, and Grade 5 Social Studies tests. But kids have fun, too. Children can study art or learn to play electronic keyboards or guitar. They can learn to cook, study French or Spanish or develop their acting talents. College for Children also offers Mommy and Me classes for toddlers and pre-schoolers. All courses are offered on Saturday in three 2-hour blocks: 9-11am, 11:15am-1:15pm and 1:30-3:30pm. The winter program begins Saturday, January 10 and ends Saturday, March 14. Classes are eight weeks in length, except where noted. Register early!
