Now in their 26th year, directors Ruth Broitman and Helen Beck offer a terrific program for moms (dads, grandparents, nannies) and children. Just Wee Two, a specially developed program for children 14 months to 3½ years old, is designed to enable grownups to share in the joy of a child’s early learning and provide encouragement and guidance as he is exposed to social situations. Free from the distractions of a busy home life, adults can participate in productive, fun-filled activities with their children. Directed and taught by early childhood teachers who are trained to work with very young children, the program limits class size to 10 children in order to allow for individualized attention. Just Wee Two is a great preparation for preschool, exposing toddlers to activities such as arts and crafts, music, rhythm and movement, playtime, stories and snack time. Children develop a sense of confidence through the successful use of educational materials. Important group skills such as communicating, listening, sharing and taking turns are emphasized. In addition, children develop their attention span, physical dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Most importantly, children will also enjoy the security of knowing that an adult who cares is always there. Just Wee Two also offers Partial Separation classes for 2-3 year olds where caregivers and children gradually separate as a transition experience to a full-time nursery school program.
