Music Together is an innovative music and movement program for children ages newborn through kindergarten and the adults who love them. Music Together classes at East Side and West Side Music Together meet for 45 minutes each week for 12 (fall), ten (winter and spring) or six (summer) weeks. Twelve children and their parents or caregivers experience new songs, chants, movement activities and instrumental jam sessions led by a licensed Music Together teacher skilled in music and early childhood education. The teacher helps adults understand how to participate, relax and enjoy the activities with their children. Regardless of their musical background, parents learn many ways to make music and move with their children. Regarded as a pioneer in its field, Music Together classes can now be found throughout the world. Several locations exist on the Upper East and West Sides. Nine non-sequential song collections are rotated over three years, providing families with a wealth of music in a variety of meters, tonalities and cultural styles. Tuition includes two new CDs and an illustrated song book each semester.
