The Aenne Hahn Religious School of Congregation Habonim strives to make Judaism and Jewish living come alive for the young people of the community in a caring and nurturing environment. Congregation Habonim works in partnership with families to foster a strong sense of commitment and to strengthen Jewish identity in its students. The school provides the young people of the congregation and their families the tools and the desire to pursue lifelong study of the core texts, values, rituals and beliefs of the Jewish people. The school believes that its students should be empowered to make informed and educated Jewish choices as members of the Jewish community and the greater community of which all are a part. The school and synagogue work as partners with the students and families, creating a spiritual home in which all may grow as individuals and as a Jewish community. The school offers an afternoon religious school program for young people in pre-kindergarten through high school. The school believes that students learn best in an intimate environment in which they can receive individualized attention, so the school has small classes in which all students can excel. The school integrates many kinds of learning into its curriculum, and the students encounter text, prayer, Hebrew language and more through art, music, creative dramatics, storytelling, movement and dance. Judaism comes alive as the school’s students experience all that Jewish living can offer.
