Columbus Preschool provides young children with a warm, nurturing and stimulating environment. The spacious, bright classrooms are arranged to facilitate the children’s uses of materials, allowing for choices and exploration while encouraging learning, social development and independent growth. In every classroom, a wide variety of child-centered activities and experiences are offered which include creative art, blocks, dramatic play, manipulatives, cooking, woodworking, science, stories, music and movement. To strengthen motor development, children use the rooftop play yard which is equipped with climbing apparatus, large building blocks, riding toys and a sand box. All children also participate in the professionally staffed gymnastics program. Additionally, there is a 24-foot rock climbing wall to further enhance your child’s gross motor skills. Each classroom has a certified early childhood teacher and an assistant teacher with early childhood experiences. Morning and afternoon classes are offered; half and full day depending on the child’s age. Applications may be requested by calling the school. Columbus Preschool is licensed by the Department of Health and is a member of the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) and the Educational Records Bureau (ERB)
