CHILD— the Center of Healing for Integrative Learning and Development— is a safe haven where families can bring their children for a variety of services. This state-of-the-art facility provides a sensory-rich environment to facilitate development and learning while promoting an enjoyable experience. Individualized needs will be addressed utilizing innovative techniques by highly skilled professionals. CHILD offers services in a variety of areas: Occupational therapy addresses children’s difficulties in their daily activities; speech and language therapy teaches children how to effectively communicate with peers; therapeutic listening uses an extensive library of electronically altered music on CDs in combination with sensory integration treatment strategies; play therapy allows children to use therapeutic games and activities to learn how to cope with life situations; Mommy & Me group allows parents and children to participate in group activities that engage children and improve social, language and motor skills; and much, much more, including social groups, physical therapy, special education, ABA (applied behavioral analysis), parent education and parent support groups.
