Founded in January 2001 by professional dancer, choreographer and dance educator, Ann Biddle, Stories in Motion offers an innovative approach to teaching dance to children. The Stories in Motion dance curriculum combines creative dance, movement play and storytelling in a unique and exciting program for infants and children from 6 months to 12 years old. The program creates a nurturing, non-competitive learning atmosphere where dance skills and the creative process are combined into a dynamic physical and imaginative experience for children. The curriculum is based on the nationally acclaimed Dance Education Laboratory (DEL) model of creative dance for children that Ms. Biddle was instrumental in developing in New York City. Classes nurture creative expression and provide: dance education for every child; an alternative to recital based dance programs; awareness of multiple learning styles; movement experiences for boys and girls alike; and an appreciation of multicultural dance and music styles. DANCE WITH ME classes for ages 6 months - 5 years old provide an open and supportive environment for different ages and developmental stages using creative dance, storytelling, storyboards, dance rhymes, puppets and much more! The KIDS DANCE program for 3 - 12 years offers a more structured dance experience within the context of improvisation and dance making and includes: Creative Ballet, Creative Dance, Broadway/Hip Hop, Rhythm Jam, Story Dance and Creative Tap. In RED RAINBOW Stories in Motion offers an integrated arts enrichment program which combines dance, educational games, art and instrumental music and percussion in a dynamic and unique manner.
