The Blue Kangaroo Day School is a year-round unique childcare center, preschool and Kindergarten for children ages infant through 6 years old, located in Dewy Meadows Village at 409 King George Road in Basking Ridge, New Jersey. The mission at Blue Kangaroo Day School is to provide a warm, loving, fun-filled learning environment for children during their first years of learning. Studies show that children learn 50% of what they learn in their lifetime in the first five years of their lives. This is a very important time. The teachers at The Blue Kangaroo Day School focus on the individual needs of each child and encourage them to develop a positive attitude towards themselves and everything associated with learning. The school offers smaller teacher to child ratios. The children have more one on one time with their teachers, a smaller class setting, and more individualized approach to learning. Each child is gently guided into learning. They are encouraged to take pride in and derive satisfaction from their personal achievements. The Blue Kangaroo Day School also strives to promote and develop positive social skills and to build trusting relationships with peers and adults. The program is designed to meet the development opportunities of each age level with Kindergarten readiness being the focus of the preschool program. Reading readiness, math skills, art, science, computers, second language, practical life situations, and fine and gross motor skills are all part of daily activities. In addition, weekly enrichment programs are designed to enhance the children's learning and fun. These programs include: Tumble Bee Gymnastics, dance, soccer, Computer Tots, music, cheerleading and Stretch & Grown nutrition and fitness. The Blue Kangaroo Day School is open year round, Monday through Friday, 6:45am - 7pm. They offer flexible scheduling for full and part-time care, as well as drop-in care. The school is also open on Saturday nights from 6:30 - 11pm for babysitting. Children will be treated to a pajama party complete with pizza, games and movies, while mom and dad have the opportunity for an evening out alone.
