Under new ownership, Hickory Hill is committed to building self-esteem through the use of positive experiences. The preschool and kindergarten program for those ages 2-6 years incorporates a multifaceted approach to education in an atmosphere that makes learning fun. Children are taught to believe in themselves through the development of self-respect, discipline and a healthy overall image. Social skills are fostered in a friendly environment. Children engage in arts and crafts, reading readiness skills, language, computers, physical fitness, music, science, drama, structured and unstructured play time and more. A creative curriculum, with a variety of hands-on materials, allows little ones to discover the world through their unique abilities. N.Y.S. certified and nurturing teachers guide the children in half-, full- or extended-day programs (7am-7pm). An equally flexible and enriching summer camp program is available for ages 2-13 as well. With the same esteem-building qualities and relaxed environment as the school, Hickory Hill Day Camp provides children with entertaining activities such as athletics, arts and crafts, nature, swimming, cooking, music, field trips, games, karate and more.
