Give your child the chance to make this summer a memorable one with Great Neck Community School’s highly acclaimed summer program! Featuring the same professional and fun-loving staff as during the school year, but with a slightly easier pace, the summer program at Great Neck is designed to meet the intellectual, physical, social, creative and emotional needs of 3, 4 and 5-year-old children. With their nurturing and sensitive environment, each student at Great Neck will get the individualized attention they need and deserve through a wide scope of activities such as, art projects, field trips, games, songs and creative crafts. Each week, students will get to experience a different theme chosen by the teachers that will be integrated throughout the curriculum, with the main objective always being to develop your child’s self-confidence, independence and initiative. Inside Great Neck Community School, the classrooms are air-conditioned and fully equipped with areas for dramatic play, block building, small muscle table games, a variety of art activities, a sand and water play table and a large selection of books. Outside, students will find Great Neck’s expansive playground area complete with permanent and moveable climging equipment, playhouses and picnic tables as well as large sheds filled with wagons, ball, pails, shovels and a “tarp beach,” for water play, where children can use their imagination through discovery. For 3 and 4-year-old students, the day runs from 9:30am to 1:30pm weekly and for the child on their way to kindergarten, the school has Monday, Wednesday and Friday sessions from 9:30am to 1:30pm and Tuesday and Thursday sessions from 9:30am to 3pm, all including “extra” activities, including a weekly field trip. Daily snacks and transportation provided for all programs. Call now to get your summer off to a smart start! Registration for the 2007-2008 school year is also now open, so call for a tour today.
