Talking Tots provides evaluations and remediation of delays in receptive/expressive language, feeding, oral motor skills, phonology, and pragmatics via individual and small group sessions. Parent/child groups educate parents in facilitation of speech, language, and socialization. Small language groups encourage children to use language to communicate with peers and/or caregivers within their environment. Parent training groups are offered for a variety of developmental concerns (eg: language, socialization, toileting, behavioral concerns). Specific Talking Tots programs include the ABA Generalization Program, a collaborative model geared toward children on the Autism Spectrum, where children immediately generalize the social/play skills learned in discreet trial format into a more typical larger group setting; and a Transition Program, geared toward children transitioning from home or center based ABA programs to the kindergarten setting. Skills addressed include auditory attending and verbally responding in a group setting, following classroom routines/group directives, peer interaction and independent activity completion, and a Social Skills Program geared toward facilitation of eye contact, shared attending, conversational turn-taking, and cooperative play with peer/teacher modeling.
