Beth Sholom Day Camp is considered the “premier” Jewish day camp in the Queens-Nassau area. Established more than 40 years ago, the camp offers boys and girls ages 3 to 15 the opportunity to reach their goals in a warm, friendly and noncompetitive atmosphere. Activities include music, dance, tennis, computers, scuba diving, gymnastics, Young Israelites, arts and crafts, arcade games, Red Cross swim instruction and all types of field sports. A special C.I.T. (Counselors In Training) program is available for 9th and 10th grades. Special events such as Olympics, off-premises trips to bowling alleys, the Westbury Music Fair and Adventureland add to the excitement. Older boys and girls grades 5-8 participate in the Sports Academy and Tween experience. These unique programs blend wonderful day trips with exciting sports and stimulating experience for children of all ages. The camp provides excellent supervision and a leader-child ratio of 4:1. The grounds boast soccer, baseball and little league fields, three heated pools, a track, tennis and volleyball courts. A magnificent adventure park was constructed with two climbing walls. An air-conditioned lunchroom and auditorium will keep them cool when the mercury rises. Beth Sholom serves a hot, Glatt Kosher lunch each day with Oneg Shabbat services every Friday. Door-to-door, air-conditioned transportation is provided. Beth Sholom also offers full- and mini-day nursery-kindergarten programs.
