Be a farmer for a week and experience summer life on a real working farm. Summer 2008 is Benner’s 11th year of summer camp, and it promises to be a great one! It’s sure to be a highlight of your child’s summer and form lasting memories of a fun and beautiful place! Benner’s Farm dates back to the mid 1700s. As the children explore the farm, gardens, fields and woods, they hear stories of its history and how people lived on Long Island before cars, malls and electricity. Presented at an appropriate age and interest level for the children, there are all kinds of new things to explore: from tractors and tools to vegetables and herbs, sheering sheep, collecting eggs from the hens or swinging from a 300-year-old oak tree. Camp groups start with Tot Camp for 3 and 4 year olds, Kinder Camp for those who are just starting school, Explorers and Senior Campers for children from 7 to 14 years old. With a different theme each day, campers are busy learning about animals, plants and nature, history, science, crafts and food. They are assured of a wonderful and entertaining summer experience in a very unique environment. Seven weeks are available this year, and every camper gets a special farm T-shirt.
