Campers, 4-13 years old, use their
senses to explore the wonders of the natural world. Students
enjoy experiencing the habitats at Tenafly Nature Center through
hands-on investigations, LIVE animals and plants, hikes, crafts,
games, and much more. Professional environmental educators
and CIT’s lead your child in discovering more about
their local environment and themselves. Tenafly Nature Center
offers adult and family activities, too! They include bird
watching, natural history programs, campfires, afterschool
series, and hiking are a few of the activities. The 65-acre
Tenafly Nature Center adjoins the Borough’s Lost Brook
Preserve. The Association acts as steward to over 316 acres
of the combined 378-acre tract. Within this impressive natural
tract visitors will discover seven miles of trails, streams,
and Pfister’s Pond, as well as over 50 species of birds
and numerous white-tailed deer, wild turkey, and red fox who
call the woodlands their home. Inside the John A. Redfield
Building, campers and families can explore a variety of natural
history exhibits, take a look at some live animals, and borrow
a book from the library. Don’t wait, contact the Tenafly
