In a caring and positive atmosphere,
the teachers at Temple Emeth ECC create a warm and happy place
for 2, 3 and 4 year-olds to learn as they bridge the gap from
school to home. Age-appropriate concepts and hands-on activities
are introduced to guide preschoolers to a positive self-image
as well as strengthening their social, emotional, cognitive
and physical skills. Based on the theory that children learn
through play, classroom routines encourage active involvement
and meaningful experimentation. Schedules are designed which
balance structure, free choice, active and relaxed periods
while coinciding with the Jewish holidays. Recognizing that
children grow in predictable stages, Temple Emeth treats each
child as an individual - promoting a love of learning that
allows each child to experience their own stage of development
and helping them feel success without pressure. All teachers
and assistants are CPR trained and certified. Temple Emeth
also values the active involvement of parents in their school,
both through committee and program participation. This includes
events such as Shabbat Parent, Family Holiday Dinner Celebrations,
Woodworking Leader, and more. The children see their parents
as important and concerned members of their school environment
and the parents are provided with opportunities to see their
children with the teachers and classmates. In addition to
their daily curriculum, Temple Emeth ECC encourages parents
to inquire about their Mommy & Me program for 18-24 month-olds
and their six week summer program. An optional hot, kosher
lunch program is available year round.
