The Palisades School has a unique ability to reveal hidden
talent and accepts any enthusiastic student willing to excel.
Director Michael Thomopoulos has created a family-like environment,
encouraging parental participation. The students perform often
and are known for their adult like poise, passion and professionalism.
Many students have performed in prestigious concert halls
such as the New Jersey Performing Arts Center, Newark’s
Symphony Hall, The John Harms Center for the Performing Arts,
Boston’s Jordan Hall, Steinway Hall and Weill Recital
Hall at Carnegie Hall, as well as on radio and television.
Students who have attended this school have been accepted
to the Julliard School, The New England Conservatory of Music,
The Eastman School, Cincinnati Conservatory and The Oberlin
Conservatory. Many have been top prize winners in international
competitions such as: The New Jersey Symphony Young Artist
Competition, The Lansdowne Symphony Concerto Competition,
The New Jersey Young Artists, The Bartok-Kabalevsky-Prokofiev
International Competition, The Steinway Society Competition,
The Allegro Music Foundation, The Missouri Southern International
Piano Competition and The International Forum on Art in Italy.
Although the school is known primarily as a school for piano,
Mr. Thomopoulos has assembled a team of the finest professionals
and now offers intensive instruction in violin, cello, classical
guitar, flute, clarinet and oboe.
