The Westfield Summer Workshop, a division of the New Jersey Workshop for the Arts, offers classes in arts, crafts, communications, dance, drama, music, musical theater and special interests for students in pre-school to grade 12. All classes are taught by certified teachers and/or professional artists, actors and musicians. Held this year at Edison Intermediate School on Rahway Avenue in Westfield, it includes 2 major theater productions, taught by a professional Broadway staff. The Workshop Theater, for grades 6-9, will present Pirates of Penzance. The Showcase Theater, for students in grades 9-12, will present Thoroughly Modern Millie and a special Broadway Cabaret. Showcase Theater requires an audition, which can be arranged by calling Valerie Pineda at (908)789-9696 extension 15.
