Day camp is available for children
ages 2-4. The Helen Troum Nursery School and day camp at Temple
Beth Sholom is a private, non-profit preschool devoted to
children from 18 months to 6 years of age. Established in
1975, this state certified school serves as a gathering place
for young children. The school offers half- and full-day programs,
as well as optional extended hours to accommodate working
parents. Programs include “Mommy and Me,” a parent
and child participatory class that focuses on socialization
and the beginning of independence for young children. In the
Two Year Old Group, children separate from their parents and
are provided with an opportunity to grow through discovery
in a warm and nurturing environment. Enhancing your child’s
social and cognitive development in a caring and non-competitive
atmosphere is the goal in the Three Year Old Group. Children
are also introduced to Jewish holidays, tradition and culture
in this program. For pre-kindergarteners, the development
of positive self-esteem and the uniqueness of each child is
further fostered in this Kindergarten Program provides an
opportunity for each child to develop this intimate environment.
The curriculum includes state-of-the-art language arts and
mathematics programs and a low student to teacher ratio allowing
for more individual instruction. In addition to the director
and the administrative personnel, the school is home to a
staff of well trained and devoted teachers and assistants.
Special programs include, Music, Science, Yoga, Aerobic Exercise
and Creative Crafts. During the summer they have a fun-filled
program with a new theme every week. The children make wonderful
craft projects in our air conditioned facility. There is a
great playground with sprinklers to cool off on hot summer
days, as well as weekly entertainment to coincide with themes.
Choose from a variety of enrollment options, 4, 6, or 8 weeks
as well as 3, 4, or 5 half or full days. For more information
