The Craig School is a unique educational community for students in grades 1 through 12 with learning differences. Its warm, caring atmosphere and structured environment make it a special community in which children will be guided toward academic and social fulfillment. The Craig School was founded in 1980 as a non-profit, independent school and is accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools. The Craig School prepares students of average to above average ability to re-enter mainstream education by addressing both their cognitive and affective needs through an individualized program of instruction. Their summer program is located on two campuses. The Lower School, for students entering grades 2 through 8, is held in Mountain Lakes and includes small group instruction in reading, math, language arts and computer usage. The Upper School program for students entering grades 9 through 12 is held in Lincoln Park and offers integrated science, biology and chemistry. The Craig School’s summer academic program is designed primarily to maintain and strengthen existing skills, while the small groups and specialized instruction permit the further development of students’ skill areas either at or above grade level. The Craig School also offers an afternoon enrichment program at the Mountain Lakes campus for students aged 6 to 14. The program includes outdoor sports, swimming, arts & crafts and computer access, as well as several field trips.
