Imagine visiting a New York City museum or art destination and returning to a fully equipped studio to create a masterwork inspired by the masterpieces. That’s what a day at SummerArts offers young artists, ages 8-13. SummerArts field trips spark imaginations and encourage campers to discover their personal vision while gaining insight into what makes a work of art great. Inspired by their trip, filled with new knowledge and brimming with creative energy, SummerArts campers return to the fully equipped studio to create their own works of art in various media such as paint, clay and paper...all in a relaxed atmosphere of summer fun with built-in playtime. SummerArts day camp is conveniently close to New York City’s fabled Museum Mile, and the unique weekly sessions keep young minds fresh and engaged. SummerArts destinations include the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Museum of Modern Art, Guggenheim Museum, Museum of the Moving Image, American Folk Art Museum, the Children’s Museum of the Arts, the Cloisters, Isamu Noguchi Garden Museum and more. SummerArts campers proudly bring their creations home at the end of each session...after the Friday afternoon group show!
