NDGAC
is a non-profit organization founded in 1932 by visionary choreographers
dedicated to social action through the arts. As NYC's first
integrated, multi-cultural dance school, New Dance’s innovative
educational methods make it an important force in the development
of modern dance and theater. Housed in the heart of the theatre
district, NDGAC serves the rehearsal needs of innumerable dance
masters, Broadway productions, television/film companies and
concert stage artists. NDGAC’s summer musical theater
program is a four-week program for the professional training
of young artists interested in musical theater. Students receive
dance training in jazz, hip-hop, ballet, tap and body alignment;
theater training in Shakespeare, improvisation and script writing;
and participate in performance showcases at the end of the session.
The specific programs- Broadway Kidz Camp (2nd-7th grade) and
Bound for Broadway (8th-12th grade), have drawn in students
from all over the world. All faculty members are theater professionals
with years of performing and/or teaching experience. Teaching
artists give individualized attention and encouragement to students,
building students’ confidence, skills and professionalism.
Program dates rune July 6 to July 29 for ages 6-18. The application
deadline is June 6. |
