Less than an hour from most of 14th Street Y’s bus pickup points in Brooklyn and Manhattan, the 14th Street Y’s New Country Day Camp has two outdoor swimming pools, hiking trails and open fields on the 75-acre Henry Kaufmann Campgrounds. Nestled in the woods of Staten Island, New Country Day Camp gives campers an opportunity to be immersed in natural surroundings and a warm, friendly and safe environment. Campers are offered program choices in Arts and Crafts, Gymnastics, Sports, and Camping, Cooking and Pioneering in which they will build skills specific to each specialty. The camp honors Jewish culture and values through songs, language, and Shabbat experiences. The youngest campers, those entering k-1st grade, have the opportunity as newcomers to try out all parts of camp in a structured group setting. The highly qualified 14th Street Y staff places the highest priority on the safety and happiness of your child. The camp supervisors have years of experience and many have advanced degrees. The counselors are caring young adults who all have extensive experience working with children. New Country Day camp is licensed by the Department of Health.
