Mothers Meetings, cafe boo bah, 298 Atlantic Ave., (b/w Smith and Hoyt), (718)935-9773. Get support in your new maternal role while socializing and sharing concerns with other new moms at this weekly discussion group. Each meeting sheds light on a different topic, however, host Ellen Chuse leaves plenty of time for parents to bring up personal issues. The organic cafe also has an outdoor and indoor play space where all the walls are interactive- kids love playing within the chalkboard, magnetic, crayon and LEGO walls, before and after the meetings. Tuesdays, 2-3:30pm, $10

Early Learner Programs, Brooklyn Children’s Museum, 145 Brooklyn Ave., (718)735-4400, www.brooklynkids.org. Especially for children under the age of 5, daily educational and creative programs enliven all of your early learner’s senses. LITTLE SCIENTIST: Through hands-on experiments, investigate the world of science on Wednesdays. TALES FOR TOTS: Sing-along to songs, hear stories from around the globe and get grooving to music on Thursdays. ART WORKS: Let your imagination soar, going crazy for color and creating vibrant artwork on Fridays. While all daily events take place at noon and between 2:30-3:30pm, Blooming Babies Weekend- where 18 month-2½ year olds take their first steps into nature and the arts, occurs the first weekend of every month and Early Learner Weekend- where slightly older kids explore cultural diversity and natural science with arts and crafts, occurs the third weekend of every month. The Subway at 100, New York City Transit Museum, Boerum Place at Schermerhorn, Brooklyn Heights, NY, (718)694-1867. One hundred years ago, engineer William Barclay Parsons completed New York City’s first subway system. In collaboration with the Science, Industry and Business Library, the Transit Museum commemorates Parson’s innovative engineering with this free exhibit. Call the museum for special lectures, tours and poetry readings to enhance your viewing experience. Ongoing.
