Planning a party? Why not celebrate your next special occasion as an astronaut on a simulated space mission to the Moon, to Mars, or to a Comet! By combining learning with fun the Lower Hudson Valley Challenger Center allows kids and grown-ups to experience what it is like to be an astronaut. While participating as an astronaut in one of the Challenger Center’s simulated space missions, partygoers will select a job to perform involving such specialties as navigation, communication, or life support, and will conduct research and perform hands-on scientific experiments as they voyage to the Moon, to Mars, or to a Comet. Participants will become immersed in a realistic Mission Control and Spacecraft environment: computer consoles, communication headsets, messages over the loud speakers, emergency sounds with flashing lights, and hands-on activities at science stations, specifically designed to provide authentic science and technology learning experiences underscored by teamwork, communication, problem-solving, and decision making. All the party mission participants will work on their job assignments, solve simulated emergencies, and succeed in the goals of their mission tasks – and will discover if they have the “right stuff” to ensure the success of their mission. Whether you’re 6 or 106 the Challenger Center can transform your next celebration into an out-of-this-world adventure that is entertaining, educational, and most of all fun! Besides offering out-of-this-world parties, the Lower Hudson Valley Challenger Center has a variety of programs including school missions, public missions, scout missions, (including overnights with additional badge-related activities), and public missions where the entire family can participate as well. Summer Camp and after-school programs are offered as well! Whether you come to the Challenger Center with a group of partygoers, your classmates, a scout troop, for a public mission, or even with a group of co-workers, their simulated but realistic space missions will take you on a journey you will never forget. A mission at the Challenger Center is an entertaining learning experience that will last a lifetime … a place where everyone can discover how fun learning can be. Inspiring. Exploring. Learning. It’s their Mission. To learn more about any of the programs they offer, visit their website, www.LHVCC.com, call (845)357-3416 or email director@LHVCC.com.
